Subscriber Role operates as a Discord bot and web service that provides subscription verification functionality. This page informs users about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. If you use our service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described herein.

YouTube API and Google Terms of Service

This application makes use of YouTube API services to verify your subscription status. Please review these Google and YouTube's terms and policies:

By using our application and connecting your Google/YouTube account, you agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you use the /verify command and authenticate securely through Google OAuth2, we collect the following:

1.1 Discord Data

• Discord ID: Your unique identifier on Discord, allowing us to assign roles appropriately.
• Guild and Server Configuration: Server ID and channel configuration data associated with the Discord server.

1.2 Google and YouTube Data

Through the YouTube API, we access the following specific Google user data:

• YouTube Subscriptions List: We retrieve your complete list of YouTube channels you are subscribed to.
• YouTube Subscription Status: We determine whether you are subscribed to a specific channel ID provided by the server administrator.
• OAuth2 Refresh Token: We securely store an offline access token to periodically re-check your subscription status without requiring re-authentication.

Important: We only access to view your subscription data. We do NOT access your email address, password, personal contact information, watch history, private videos or playlists, YouTube comments, interactions, or any other Google services or data not explicitly listed above.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively to provide the core functionality of the bot:

• To verify your subscription to the required YouTube channel.
• To assign or remove the designated "Subscriber" role automatically in Discord.
• To maintain your verification status across multiple checks.

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your data with any third parties. We will not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than providing the Subscriber Role service.

3. Log Data

When you visit or use our service, we automatically collect certain information ("Log Data"). This may include:

• Your computer's Internet Protocol (IP) address
• Browser version and type
• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Date and time of your requests
• Other statistics and diagnostic information

This information is used to maintain and improve the service, monitor for security threats, and analyze service usage patterns.

4. Cookies

Our website may use cookies, which are small data files stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies help us:

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your authentication tokens are stored securely in our database only as long as necessary to provide the service. If you wish to revoke our access at any time, you can do so from your Google Account Permissions page. Revoking access will result in:

• Automatic removal of your "Subscriber" role on Discord during the next verification check
• Deletion of your stored refresh token from our database
• Cessation of all subscription verification checks for your account

Data Requests: You have the right to request access to, edit, or delete your personal data. All such requests will be processed within 30 days of receipt. To submit a data request, deletion request, or to receive your data package, please contact us at ian@iancheung.dev with your Discord ID and details of your request.

7. Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our service, including:

• Google/YouTube API services for subscription verification
• Discord API services for role management
• Hosting and database companies

These third parties have access to your information only to the extent necessary to perform the functions assigned to them and are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this information from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.

Our service may contain links to third-party websites. These external sites are not operated by us, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices, content, or policies. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites before providing your information.
